Today's chilly morning was warmed by a gift of books. A team of authors worked with the Sunburst Schools librarian to get a book for every 7-12th grade student. Because of the way the were delivered, Mrs. Bergstrom (inspired by the Johnny Cash lunchbox Cadillac song) brought them to school in small batches in her lunch bags. The high school staff worked together to label gift bags and wrap books. Homeroom ended with every student receiving a book for their home libraries. The smiles in the halls show how reading has the power to brighten dreary days.

Breakfast Change
On Thursday, March 16, we will be having Breakfast Bars instead of Apple Strudel, due to supply issues.
In this lesson, 3rd grade students saw that by learning to think about pushes and pulls — forces — they can accomplish extraordinary things! In the activity, Hopper Popper, students made a folded piece of cardboard jump high in the air, propelled by the pulling force of a rubber band. We discussed the forces involved in making this “Hopper Popper” jump.
