Easter Egg Hunt Moved Indoors! We will still be having our Easter Egg Hunt today at 3pm, but it will be moved inside. Preschool age 0-5 students will be in the elementary gym; kindergarten will be in the lunchroom; 1st grade will be in the music room; 2nd grade will be in the art/science room; 3rd grade will be in the library.

In this lesson, third grade students explored the different properties of materials used for clothing, such as texture, flexibility, and absorbency. In the activity, students used this information to design and build a hat that protected them from the Sun. Something we're definitely lacking this spring! haha

Preschool Screening/Kindergarten Registration Preschool screening and kindergarten registration will be occurring at Sunburst Elementary School on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 8:30-11:30am. Please contact Miss Lori at the office at 406-937-2816 to schedule an appointment. Parents are encouraged to bring in all children age 0-5 to be screened in teh areas of vision, hearing, speech, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and cognitive abilities. April 25th is also kindergarten registration. If your cihld will be turnign 5 on or before September 10, 2022, your child can enroll in Sunburst Schools. To be fully enrolled, parents need to bring a birth certificate and immunization records. If your child is already attending Mrs. Nau's preschool on Wednesdays, you are already registered for kindergarten and have already turned in the necessary documentation. The annual Easter Egg Hunt for kids age 0-5 years old will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at 3pm.

5th/6th Band Recital The 5th/6th grade band students will be having a muscial performance on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 2:30pm in the Sunburst Elementary Music Room. Please come and see how much our young instrumentalists have improved!

Missoula Children's Theater Performance Tomorrow! Tomorrow, Friday, April 8, will be performance day for the Missoula Children's Theater Produciton of Johnny Appleseed. There will be a matinee performance at 1pm and an evening performance at 6pm. The cost is: ages 0-5=free, students age 6-18 = $4, adults = $6, and seniors = free. We hope everyone comes out and supports our students as they have been working very hard throughout the week to put on a great peformance for our community!

Missoula Children's Theater Permission Slips! Students in kindergarten through 6th grade were sent home with a permission slip to particpate in MCT this past Monday (see picture)! For elementary students to participate, permission forms must be returned by tomorrow, Friday, April 1, 2022. If you have questions/concerns about MCT, please contact your child's teacher or the school office.

The 2nd graders, led by Mrs. Pace, learned about friction. To test how friction worked, students tried out some curling to honor the Winter Olympics!

Monday, April 4 Breakfast Change! On Monday, April 4th breakfast will be changed from Breakfast Sandwiches to Apple Strudel. We have been waiting for this new product to arrive and are excited to try it out!

Congratulations to the Sunburst Jr. High and High School science fair teams. We left Missoula with HS: 8 gold, 1 silver; JH: 5 Gold, 4 silver, 1 Bronze. The final results will be presented in the ceremony tomorrow. And, thank you parents for the enthusiastic send-off.

Missoula Children's Theater Returns! Missoula Children's Theater (MCT) returns to Sunburst Schools April 4-8, 2022! This year's production will be "Johnny Appleseed." All students in kindergarten through 12th grade can participate! Auditions will be held on Monday, April 4th from 3:40-5:40pm at the NTCHS auditorium. Please note that there is no guarantee that all students will be selected for a part in the play. Students in kindergarten through 6th grade were sent home with a permission slip today, March 28, 2022 (see picture)! For elementary students to participate, permission forms must be returned by Friday, April 1, 2022. Parents and community members are encouraged to attend the performances which will be held on Friday, April 8th at 1pm and 6pm at the NTCHS auditorium. The cost to attend will be: 0-5= free; students 6-18 = $4; adults = $6; seniors = free. MCT puts on weekly shows around the nation and globe!
